Volunteer Position

Who are you?  Are you highly motivated to help Democrats win in 2018? Have you done some volunteering but want to take on more responsibility? Want to see all the aspects of political campaigns first-hand and learn what it takes to build a winning strategy? We want it you on the Volosin Victory Squad!

The position of Candidate Support Intern on the Volosin Victory Squad is open to all people regardless of age or previous experience. This is a full-time internship with hours on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. The Volosin Victory Squad will provide housing and the candidate support intern will be located in Roanoke.

As a crucial member of the campaign team, the Candidate Support Intern will provide daily assistance the to candidate. Tasks include but not limited to personal, administrative, and publicity needs.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Administrative tasks.       
  • Answering email and responding to inquiries.
  • Coordinating and scheduling events.
  • Updating candidate’s daily schedule.
  • Visually document candidate’s events and activities for promotional materials.
  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements for candidate.
  • Provide personal assistance to candidate.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Dependable, committed and flexible.
  • Dedication to candidate and his causes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Intellectual and political curiosity.
  • A team player.
  • General knowledge of the electoral process; extensive knowledge of regional and state politics a plus.
  • Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation.
  • Must be at least a rising college sophomore. Major in related field preferred.

Title: Organizing Interns

Volunteer Position

Who are you?  Are you highly motivated to help Democrats win in 2018? Have you done some volunteering but want to take on more responsibility? Want to see all the aspects of political campaigns first-hand and learn what it takes to build a winning strategy? We want you on the Volosin Victory Squad!

The positions of Organizing Intern on the Volosin Victory Squad are open to all people regardless of age or previous experience. This is a full-time internship with hours on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. The Volosin Victory Squad will provide housing and each intern will be located in one specific region throughout the sixth district.

The Organizing Interns will work directly with the field director and campaign manager to execute the voter outreach operation and other high-level campaign tasks. This is a leadership position in the campaign.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Voter outreach
  • Organize voter outreach and fundraising activities
  • Producing and delivering program briefings and debriefings as assigned
  • Leading training on these topics, guiding volunteers in the basics of phone banking, canvassing, donor research, etc.
  • Administrative tasks       
  • Answering email and responding to inquiries
  • Coordinating and scheduling events
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Dependable, committed and flexible.
  • Openness to working with volunteers, and teaching them new skills.
  • Comfortable taking leadership and responsibility.
  • Intellectual and political curiosity.
  • A team player.
  • General knowledge of the electoral process; extensive knowledge of regional and state politics a plus.

Title: Media Intern

Volunteer Position

Want to see all the aspects of political campaigns first-hand and learn what it takes to build a winning strategy? We want you on the Volosin Victory Squad!

The position of Media Intern on the Volosin Victory Squad is open to all people regardless of age or previous experience. This is a full-time internship with hours on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. The Volosin Victory Squad will provide housing and the media intern will be located in Roanoke.

The Media Intern will work directly with the communications director and campaign manager to execute the voter outreach through digital media and print media and other high-level campaign tasks. This is a leadership position in the campaign.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in policy, media or fundraising research
  • Administrative tasks       
  • Answering email and responding to inquiries
  • Coordinating and scheduling events
  • Producing program materials (e.g. name tags; reading materials; etc.)
  • Updating team daily schedule
  • Social media management
  • Planning social media updates for the week
  • Running the campaign social media accounts
  • Designing graphics and research
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Dependable, committed and flexible.
  • Comfortable using graphic design software.
  • Comfortable taking leadership and responsibility.
  • Intellectual and political curiosity.
  • A team player.
  • General knowledge of the electoral process; extensive knowledge of regional and state politics a plus.
  • Must be at least a rising college sophomore. Major in related field preferred.
